Payment & Cancellation Policy
Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your place in the Hanging With Hounds client roster. Fees are non-refundable after the training program has commenced. If training is cancelled prior to starting a program and more than seven days in advance of the start date, a full refund less a 10% administration fee will be made. If training is cancelled prior to starting a program and within seven days of the start date, a full refund less a 30% administration fee will be made.
A minimum of 24-hours notice is required to cancel a training session. This applies to both in-person and virtual training sessions. If notice of less than 24-hours notice is provided, the session is forfeited. Outdoors sessions are weather-dependent. As much notice as possible will be provided if a session needs to be rescheduled. Reasons for cancellation include severe cold and/or snow, excessive heat or rain and storm activity.
All non-separation anxiety programs must be completed within 3-months from the date of the training agreement. Any sessions not completed within that time frame will be forfeited. This is to ensure that your training goals can be attained through timely and consistent training.
The Consultant will work directly with my dog(s) and myself to impart animal behaviour knowledge utilizing positive reinforcement training methodology that best fits our needs. Successful companion pet programs depend on a combination of learned skills on the part of the dog(s) and owner. Behaviour is not static; an animal will not continue to perform even trained behaviours without ongoing practice.
If the Consultant is working with me and my dog(s) in a case involving any aggression, although behaviour may be modified, the dog is never considered “cured.” A dog’s behaviour is ultimately the owner’s responsibility. The consultant will make every reasonable effort to help us attain goals but makes no guarantees of performance on the part of the Client or pet as a result of providing professional animal behaviour consultation.
The client acknowledges that obedience training/behaviour modification is an inherently risky activity and may result in damage or injury to a dog(s) and/or persons. The client will assume full financial responsibility for the actions of their dog(s). The client acknowledges that dog(s) may be exposed to a variety of environmental conditions which include, but are not limited to, vehicular travel, interaction with people and other animals, exposure to adverse weather, and exposure to areas with crowds and all types of traffic.
Hanging With Hounds is a positive reinforcement trainer. Food and other reinforcements are used extensively in the training programs. Aversive equipment such as choke, prong and shock or e-collars will not be used.
